Cerakwool Rigidizer / Hardener
1,000°C – 1,800°C
Main applications
- prevents fiber erosion in high-velocity
- dusty environments
- extending lining life in boilers and incinerators
Key Features
Surface hardening and added mechanical strength
Hardens the flexible ceramic fiber surface, protecting the insulation from impact and physical abrasion
Prevents erosion at high gas velocity
Stops fiber release at source where gas velocity is high — keeping the plant clean and protecting personnel
Holds up from 1,000°C to 1,800°C
Stays hardened at temperature and in fact hardens further with heat — extending the life of extreme-temperature linings
Better abrasion and chemical resistance
Increased resistance to chemical attack — blocking corrosion and wear even in aggressive process environments
Simple to apply
Liquid form, applied on site by spray or brush, and fully cured once the plant is brought up to temperature

Applications
Industrial furnaces & incinerators
- •Protective coating on furnace walls
- •Surface hardening of incinerator insulation
Hot piping & boilers
- •Protecting ceramic wool where vibration or gas velocity is high
- •Preventing fiber release in exhaust ducts
Precision casting
- •Refractory coating and shape retention on casting moulds
- •Surface hardening of hot moulds
Process plant
- •Extending the life of extreme-temperature insulation in power and petrochemical plant
- •Protecting blast furnace linings
Notes
- ※Where Cerakwool is exposed to high gas velocity, fiber erosion occurs. Applying a rigidizer hardens the surface to a ceramic-like finish and can more than double the replacement interval.
- ※We advise the optimal application rate for your operating temperature and gas velocity — technical consultation recommended.
